This summer, Rutgers invites students of all ages to participate in fully online summer programs including camps, courses in the arts, career exploration, and more. Learn, create, and have fun from the comfort of your own home through these virtual programs. An example of Rutgers’ leading role in online education, these programs have been reinvented to new, fully virtual formats in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For Younger Children ages 4+

For younger children, Kids Create!, running between July and August, brings 45-minute interactive art lessons into your home. Activities range from drawing to painting, collage, movement, music, and creative dramatics.

The online Summer Reading Program is also a great summer activity for adults and children alike. It is broken into different groups by age, ranging from 4-year-olds through high school and beyond. Each week, you or your child will meet with a teacher to learn reading skills and dive into new books from the comfort of your home.

If you are looking for something to replace the traditional summer camp experience, the L.G. Cook 4-H Camp is running a virtual camp this summer. Open to ages 8-16 and running from July through August.

For High School Students Looking to Explore the College Experience

Pre-College Academies are open to students ages 15-18, and introduce students to the skills they will have to master in college and beyond. Both will be held online. The Physical Therapy Summer Academy allows students to explore careers and education in physical therapy from the comfort of their own homes. The Leadership Academy teaches students important leadership skills while preparing them for the work they will need to do in college, eventually giving them the ability to make engaging oral presentations.

The SAT and ACT Summer Institutes provide virtual test prep for students preparing for undergraduate admissions.
